Students from eight different programs at St. Clair County Technical Education Center competed in the annual local SkillsUSA competition on Dec. 10.

More than 100 students from the automotive, collision repair, construction, cosmetology, culinary arts, digital media technology, metal machining and welding programs participated in the competition, a recent press release from the St. Clair County Regional Educational Service Agency states.

Students who placed in the top three received medals and will move on to the regional contest, which will take place throughout February. In addition, depending on the contest, more than three students can move on to regionals and will compete there.

“Congratulations to all the students who competed, and good luck to the students moving onto the next level of competition,” the release states.
